Re: Blu-ray releases and purchases
I'll be getting the Coen Brothers Collection that comes out tomorrow. Also got The Big Lebowski a couple weeks ago, and then there's O Brother Where Art Thou? coming out on Sept 13.
I love how almost their entire catalogue is being released on Blu simultaneously.

Re: Blu-ray releases and purchases
Superman Movie Anthology, X-Men First Class, Ben Hur, Jurassic Park Collection, and Star Wars trilogy squared. I was not going to give Mr. Lucas more dollars but the reviews of the collection is outstanding.

But I read that he changed more stuff, replacing the puppet Yoda in Episode I with CGI.

Re: Blu-ray releases and purchases
Hmm, I thought I posted a thread on this before I saw this thread, but it doesn't seem to have shown up. Anyways...

Hook is supposed to be re-released on DVD/Blu November 1. Sadly, they say there don't seem to be any extras (there's a wealth of deleted scenes from this film that would be great to see), but it would seem to be further support--as if we needed more--for the notion of a pending complete release from LLL.

I was so going to get the Superman Anthology, but apparently the first and second films haven't been re-mastered, and the Singer film still looks murky as hell. Disappointing.

Re: Blu-ray releases and purchases
The Bits say they have been. Also, SUPERMAN contains the theatrical audio mix. Not sure what to say about the RETURNS, as far as I remember it looks pretty much as it did in theaters (at least based on the original blu-ray). Murky for sure, but it's less the transfer and more the color timing of the film.

Re: Blu-ray releases and purchases
Was able to get Jumanji on Blu Ray for free through work (we have this points awards system and I earned enough points to get it, haha!). I know it's not a film for everyone but it certainly has nostalgia for me and I still think it's entertaining and dark for a supposed "kid's film". Still hanging onto that first DVD release, however, since it is the only one that has the isolated score by James Horner.
Btw, anyone who is a fan of the Evil Dead films will be pleased to know that Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn is getting a new Blu Ray release with an improved transfer and a bunch of new bonus features!
Oh and, hey, it's scallenger. Sucks that JWFAN has been down this long, just found out about this place.

Superman looks and sounds awesome. Of course you must select the original sound.
I found Superman Returns to look fine. I'm pleased with this set.

I hear 3 and 4 look great though. I'd rather this than Star Wars.
