Re: The Tintin Thread
Well, the film is going to be released in less than 2 months from now. I just realized that.
(In my mind it's still like 6 months, a year. We've been waiting so long at this point that I have this constant feeling it's still far, far away)

Re: The Tintin Thread
No news that I've seen lately (I check every day). This link has some cool shots of figurines coming out, and news about an ipod/ipad version of the video game
nickutopia.com/category/the-adventures-of-tintin-2/
There's a video game trailer down the page that I don't think we ever discussed on the real board, but it contains no JW music, its all original music from the game.

Now, since this isn't REALLY JWfan, technically someone who was, lets say...in possession of certain pieces of sheet music or mock-ups or other material could, without it weighing in any way on his conscience...
You know what I mean right?

Re: The Tintin Thread
There are many many themes in the score. Four of them are:
1. Captain Haddock's Theme
2. The Unicorn theme
3. A theme for the bad guy
4. A theme for a character Tin and Haddock meet in the desert

Could you describe how the themes sound?

Re: The Tintin Thread
BTW, was there doubt about haddock nationality? or just about where in Great britain he come from?
Because re-reading the comics (in english), he certainly seems to be from the british isles. but why his ancestral home is a frech chateau?
Because in the original version...the ancestor is not sir francis haddock under the king charles II but, a french chevalier under the king louis XIV.
So he should be belgian-french, and what are we going to see in the film is the english version, which i suppose is the one that Spielberg and jackson read, so they have that perception.
In spanish though, haddock is of french origin.

Re: The Tintin Thread
Captain Haddock is from Cornwall and so speaks with a Cornish accent (try to imagine a southern English farmer's accent). But for some reason he's Scottish in the movie, which has apparently upset some purists.Luke's Force Ghost wrote:BTW, was there doubt about haddock nationality? or just about where in Great britain he come from?

I guess there's also a theme associated with Tintin himself, right?
And does Snowy have his own motif?

Re: The Tintin Thread
It's weird that no new clips or soundclips have surfaced. Seems they're not pushing the marketing too hard on this

Re: The Tintin Thread
definately the toys from this movie reflect that.
i dont see a good marketing with those. they are downtown newspaper kiosk plastic figures for little children encased in hasbro-like cases.
and they are only 3-4 items...

It's in line with what Spielberg generally does for his own films. He wants to keep things under wraps to the last possible moment. He still believes in the principle that you should discover the film while you're seeing it, without giving away too much of it in trailers and marketing. I like this.
