I cant beleive i didnt care much in 1997 for luke's scream in esb bespin fall, bt really he did the same as he is doing now, but for a more dramatic scene.

even if the added 'noes' were recorded in 1983 and got unused, its a crime to do it now.

I think that Nooooo should now be inserted into every single movie of the saga. Oh wait there is one in TPM (Obi-Wan when Qui-Gon gets stuffed), in AOTC (Qui-Gon's ghost when Anakin kills Tuskens). You could easily insert Vader's Noooo into SW when he spins out of control during the end battle. And I guess you could insert one or two in TESB (when looks jumps into the shaft and when Milennium Falcon escapes at the end of the picture). So much fun ahead of us!

Yes, that's true. But wait, this moment was probably supposed to be mirrored in ROTS when father (and son in TESB) learns the terrible truth. Which means.... Irvin Kershner is responsible for all this!

I'm definitely going to buy this Blu-Ray set, I never had the OT on DVD.
My three kids are now on perfect age(8-13) for Star Wars and they have no idea something has been changed.
Come on, still 99% of the original stuff is still there.

when lucas releaseles the remastered unaltered OT, like everyone else.
Or at least...when he removes the vader screams without further worse tinkering...

But the NOOOO will now be a running theme throughout the saga.
For the 3D version Lucas will use it for when Luke jumps to his death, Vaders NOOOOO will be uttered as a defeat, failing to encourage his son...
Also, it bothers me now that Ewoks blink, while Chewie doesn't.

um chewies eyes are Peter Mahew's
He really blinks. I dont know if his close up shots are long enough for him to blink, but he should.
Checked. Of course he does blink man! Even in old star wars makeup

So, on a sidenote, wasn't more or less officially said by LFL that they were planning a soundtrack saga boxset as a tie-in of the BD release? I guess they scrapped the plans, since there isn't anything like that on the horizon.
Personally, I gave up with anything related to LucasFilm. At this point, I just hope they will release expanded AOTC and ROTS someday down the road. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky enough to have had complete releases of the original Trilogy back in 1997 and a significant amount of unreleased Indy music in 2007.

About the Krayt Dragon call, it's clearly the scream from the Bombe Surprise scene from Diamonds are Forever (2:42):

I read at Original Trilogy forums that the 2006 GOUT released has been recalled by LFL. I really need a copy of that since LFL is purging it into landfill. I passed thinking they'd re-master it properly.

The fact is that Lucas has every right to edit "creator editions" any way he wants.
HOWEVER, he is also obligated to the fans to also provide remastered original theatrical editions (with audio extras or alternate footage for the hundreds of mini-variations).
With all of the technology, money, and specialists at Lucasfilm, each film being a 2-disc set with theatrical and creator's cuts should not be out of the question. The fact that Lucas taunts his "purist" fans is just plain odd.
Most of the changes, IMO, add or retract nothing. But the worst by far is Jedi Rocks and dialing-out of Williams music or cutting it up like in ESB's chopped-up "Hyperspace" cue. It is an abomination. The rest are some acceptable, some annoying but most somewhat tolerable. Jedi Rocks however, is just flat out an insult and looks and sounds worse than the cheapest cartoon ever made, IMO.

I should add that I am a fan of deleted footage, so between the 1080-HD and the deleted scenes, this set is still a must-have to me. Blu-ray has spioled me... I can't even watch DVDs anymore, not even upscaled.
Still, Lucas is just a stubborn mule for not including remastered 1080-HD versions of the original theatrical editions of the "Classic" Trilogy (I hear very few complaints about changes to teh theatrical editions of the "Prequel Trilogy", I might add).

As much as i hate the new NO,NOOOOOO change i have to admit the german version of it doesnt sound that bad. As i first watched the english version i
was more than angry and dissapointed in Lucas. I usually watch films and series in english but the german synchronisation for the old trilogy is better than the english original.
The same is true for LoTR and there i make the exceptions and rather watch the german versions.
It seemed that the german synch team wanted to make the best out of the crazy no change and they approached it more serious and a bit more subdued. At least i can live with that but i absolutely cannot live with the incredibly shitty english No, Nooo crap.
(i dont have the box yet, i only watched the youtube clip and the german soundpart on www.starwars-union.de)
